UCI students set a record as six students have been awarded Fulbright Fellowships to conduct graduate research — doubling the school’s previous record.
The winners are 2007 UCI graduates Brian Baek and Jarrod Larson, and seniors Yoo Nam, Neil Saigal, Denise Sandoval and Christina Zdenek, UCI announced Thursday.
Baek will conduct autism research; Larson will examine social factors of HIV/AIDS awareness in Peru; Nam plans to teach English to students in South Korea; Saigal will study brain imaging in Sweden; Sandoval will study business in Mexico as part of the Fulbright business program; and Zdenek will use her award to conduct wildlife conservation research in the rain forests in Australia.
