Thrill-seekers and crime-fiction aficionados will have the opportunity to meet award-winning mystery writer Don Winslow at the Newport Beach Central Library 7 p.m. Thursday.
Winslow will talk about his newest novel “The Dawn Patrol,” which details the crime-solving pursuits of a surfing ex-cop turned private investigator.
Winslow, who lists his former occupations as actor, director, journalist safari guide, private investigator and consultant to law firms, has written 10 other novels, including “The Winter of Frankie Machine,” which is being developed as a film starring Robert DeNiro, “The Death and Life of Bobby Z,” “California Fire and Life,” and “Power of the Dog.”
The event is sponsored by the California Center for the Book. Lido Books will provide books for purchase and signing by the author after the lecture. The event will be in the Friends Meeting Room at the central library, 1000 Avocado Ave.
