Scenic 5K to feature fun walk, entertainment

The 27th annual Corona del Mar Scenic 5K on June 7 will include men’s and women’s 5K races, a two-mile fun walk and a 1K “dolphin dash� for the kids.

Runners and observers will enjoy live entertainment, while local restaurants collectively create a “restaurant row,� allowing participants to sample a variety of cooking.

Fletcher Jones Motorcars, a co-sponsor of the event, will show off its newly redesigned Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster to lead each division into separate competitions.

For adults, entering the 5K races will cost $25 at early registration status and $30 on race day. The fee for the fun walk is $15 and $10 to enter the “dolphin dash.�

The Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event, and fundraising will profit the city’s children and senior programs.
