Yankees win: The Yankees scored 15 runs in the first inning en route to their victory in the first round of the playoffs Tuesday. Jake Martin had a terrific game offensively for the Yankees with one home run and two doubles.

Martin wasn’t the only batter hitting doubles, Connor Howard and Trevor Cohen delivered one each. The following players hit singles in the game: Kris Cardenas (three doubles), Noah Ostunio, Nathan Sutherland, William Leiby (two), Trevor Cohen (two), Alexis Herrera, and Connor Howard. The Yankees’ newer pitchers took to the mound with some great success. Martin struck out the side in the first inning, Noah Ostunio pitched the second inning and made a great play getting a runner out at home plate. William Leiby struck out three in the third inning and Kris Cardenas pitched the final innings, striking out two. The Yankees play their next playoff game Tuesday.
