Rodman charged with domestic abuse in dispute

Former NBA rebounding All-Star Dennis Rodman was charged with domestic abuse by Los Angeles City prosecutors stemming from a dispute he had with his girlfriend in a local hotel last month, officials said Friday.

Rodman, who lives part time in Newport Beach, is also charged with brandishing a deadly weapon and dissuading a witness, said Nick Velasquez, a spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney’s office.

Last month, Rodman’s girlfriend, Gina Peterson, called hotel security to their Los Angeles hotel room after he allegedly hit her, causing her arm to bruise, the Los Angeles Times reported.
