Vote gives council more authority to sell property
The Huntington Beach City Council voted 7-0 at their meeting Monday on a measure to give themselves more authority to sell city property to another public agency.
The intent, according to staff reports, is to let the city transfer an easement on Edinger Avenue at the western border of Huntington Beach to the county, which already built a bridge on the land. The vote also authorizes the city engineer to make that transfer. The move will let the county get funding for more construction and maintenance, according to city reports.
