RESTAURANT ROUNDUP:

Ice cream lovers, grab your spoons. The Fashion Island Häagen-Dazs will be unveiling two new flavors next week, and they want your feedback to decide which to add to their regular repertoire.

Customers will be able to taste a single scoop of the two new offerings — Vanilla Honey Bee and Green Tea flavors — from 4 to 8 p.m. starting Monday.

“People can choose which one they like, and the corporation will keep the customers’ favorite,� shift leader Sylvia Trejo said.

Häagen-Dazs has tried this model before, testing out two flavors — Cinnamon Dulce Leche and Toffee Pudding — last year.

The Fashion Island Häagen-Dazs is near the Iris Fountain, at 265 Newport Center Drive.

 

Celebrate mom at pub

Muldoon’s Dublin Pub & Celtic Bar will hold a special brunch this Sunday in honor of Mother’s Day, offering a special children’s menu from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Those choosing to instead honor their moms with a special dinner can do so from 3 to 9 p.m. and receive a free dessert at the restaurant.

“We also have our wonderful Irish specialties — such as our Irish stew and our shepherd’s pie — so if someone is seeking a more traditional Irish lunch or dinner, we can provide that as well,� Manager Sheri Iler said.

Iler recommended those interested in dining at Muldoon’s make reservations prior to their arrival.
