MEN’S TENNIS
UC Irvine 5, UC Davis 2
DAVIS — Senior Alex Sundling and junior Trevor Dobson won in singles and doubles to pace the Anteaters in the Big West Conference match Sunday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.
Sundling topped Henri Landes, 7-6, 4-6, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and paired with Zac Tsai to post an 8-4 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
Dobson won his No. 3 singles match, 7-6, 2-6, 6-1, and paired with Douglas Taylor to top the Aggies’ tandem at No. 3 doubles.
The Anteaters improved to 10-12, 3-1 in conference, while Davis is now 9-12, 1-4.
UCI visits UCLA on Wednesday for a 1:30 p.m. contest.

TEMPE, Ariz. —The UC Irvine men’s golf team finished 12th in the event that concluded Sunday at the Karsten Golf Course.
UCI sophomore John Chin, who shot a one-over-par 72 in the final round, led UCI with a 16th-place finish at 216.
Junior Sean Shahi, with a 76 Sunday, placed 40th at 221. Senior Kenny Kim (72) and junior Tim Cha (76) tied for 57th place at 224 while freshman Bryan Harris (82) finished 82nd at 235.
Host Arizona State won the 54-hole, 16-team event with a total of nine-under 843, 38 shots better than UCI.
Denver’s Espen Kofstad shot a three-under 68 Sunday to win medalist honors with a three-under total of 210.
Coach Paul Smolinski’s Anteaters return to action Saturday and Sunday in the U.S. Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course. UCI defends its title in the Big West Conference Championships April 21-22 at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita.
WOMEN’S WATER POLO
Stanford 10, UC Irvine 4
STANFORD — Senior goalkeeper Lauren Machanis had 10 saves and sophomore Kat Plummer scored two goals for the Anteaters in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation road contest Sunday.
Stanford (22-3, 10-1 in conference), ranked No. 2, held a 1-0 lead after one period and was up, 5-1, at halftime.
No. 8-ranked UCI fell to 13-9, 5-6.
