CORONA DEL MAR — No. 10-ranked UC Irvine defeated No. 12-ranked Long Beach State, 8-5, in the 11th-place game Sunday at Corona del Mar High.

Freshman Caitlin Haskell had three goals to lead the winners (7-5), who were defeated, 9-8, by No. 6-ranked San Diego State earlier Sunday at CdM High.

Junior Gianna Rossi had a team-high three goals against the Aztecs.

Senior Lauren Machanis had 20 saves on the day, 13 against the 49ers.

Coach Dan Klatt’s Anteaters return to action Friday, when they visit UC Davis at 4 p.m.
