Chamber’s Valentine’s Day mixer at Claes

The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce will host a Valentine Mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Claes restaurant at the Hotel Laguna.

There will be raffle prizes in addition to tastings of delicious foods. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

? Woodhouse named a Super Lawyer again

Violet P. Woodhouse, a certified family law specialist and certified financial planner, has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer for 2008. She has received this honor for five consecutive years.

The 2008 Southern California Super Lawyers list will be published in the February 2008 issue of the Los Angeles Magazine and in a special publication, Southern California Super Lawyers, which is a joint project of the publishers of Los Angeles Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine.

This publication will be delivered to every active licensed attorney in Los Angeles and Orange counties, and will be posted on www.superlawyers.com.

“It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization,” Woodhouse said. “This is an especially gratifying distinction, as votes came from my respected and esteemed peers.”

Woodhouse, who lives in Laguna Beach, is a former recipient of the National Leadership Award for her dedication to the Republican Party. She has also been honored with an appointment to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Business Advisory Council. She is a member of the Professionalism & Ethics Committee of the Orange County Bar Assn., and also serves as a judge pro tem for Orange County’s Family Law Court.

Woodhouse is author of “Divorce and Money: How To Make The Best Financial Decisions During Divorce,” currently in its eighth edition.

She has been named one of the nation’s top 200 financial planners by Worth magazine for several consecutive years.
