Vanguard tries to stay atop GSAC standings
The Vanguard University women’s basketball team will try to retain its share of the Golden State Athletic Conference lead when it plays host to Cal Baptist today at 5:30 p.m.
The Lions (14-3, 10-1 in conference) are ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, while Cal Baptist (12-6, 6-5) is tied for No. 19.
Vanguard, tied with No. 3-ranked Point Loma Nazarene atop the GSAC standings, is led by senior Jessica Richter (21.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game), as well as senior Melissa Cook (15.1 ppg, 7.7 rpg.).
Cal Baptist is paced by junior guard Nicole Davis, (21.2 points and six assists per contest).
