Paul Richard Holmes

Paul Richard Holmes, Sr., longtime Sun City West resident, beloved husband and father, passed away January 13, 2008 in Phoenix, Arizona. Paul and his wife, Jeanie (who passed away in June 2003) lived in SCW for 19 years and were active members of the community. Paul was born in 1917 in San Bernardino, graduated from UC Berkeley in 1941 and from Harvard Business School, Advanced Management Program in 1961. During his career in the aerospace industry, he President of an Aerojet subsidiary with manufacturing plants in California and Arkansas, and President of Murdock Machine and Engineering Company, Irving, Texas (a subsidiary of Lockheed). He retired in 1983. Paul was active in Cub Scouts, the YMCA, the American Cancer Society and the United Way. His interests included fishing, bowling and desert plants of the Southwest. Paul and Jeanie are survived by their children, Michelle of Santa Barbara, CA, Paul Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and Roger of Dallas, TX, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A second daughter, Susan, died in 1984. Paul and Jeanie will be remembered as loving and generous parents, and exceptional people.
