Arts Foundation installs new officers, president

The Newport Beach Arts Foundation, the nonprofit fundraising arm of the city’s arts commission, installed several new officers Thursday, including Marie Marston of Newport Beach as the new president.
“We are an organization of 12 people who are probably the hardest working group in Newport Beach,” said membership chairwoman and outgoing president Lila Crespin. “We all have other lives, but we find the time to sponsor the arts in this city.”
Marston said she hopes to encourage the city to get more involved with art in public places and she plans to organize more frequent fundraisers, such as the antique appraisal benefit held at the Oasis Senior Center in March.
Other incoming officers are Lyn Belasco, Emil Crespin, Patricia Jorgensen, Sandy Reich, Jan Seymour and Ann Stern, all of Newport Beach.
Anyone interested in joining the foundation may call (949) 689-7143.
