OCPAC opens doors with free events

The latest series at the Orange County Performing Arts Center transcends concert halls and main stages out onto the 46,000-square-foot Community Plaza, where the center will launch Free For All later this month.

The series of free events begins with a dance party following the matinee performance of the American Ballet Theatre’s “The Sleeping Beauty” July 22.

A similar event will follow “Mamma Mia!” Aug. 12.

The main building’s exterior will be transformed into a movie screen Monday evenings in August for musicals in conjunction with the Newport Beach Film Festival.

The films will begin at 8:30 p.m. The center is at 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa.
