MESA PLAYS TODAY

FULLERTON — The Costa Mesa 13-year-old All-Stars defeated Saddleback Valley, 13-4, and avoided elimination in the Pony District Tournament Wednesday at Amerige Park.

Alex Trancoso went three for four with two doubles, a stolen base and three RBIs. Martin Myszynski was two for four with a double and Kannon Stone also went two for four with a double and added two RBIs.

Forrest Baker contributed a triple and Andreas Hernandez a double, while Steven Hildenbrand provided one hit for the Costa Mesa All-Stars, who scored four runs in the first inning.

Costa Mesa will play in an elimination game today at 5 p.m. at Amerige Park.
