Local volleyball club tryouts May 5

Main Beach Laguna Volleyball Club will hold open tryouts and a parent information meeting from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sat., May 5, at the Thurston Middle School gymnasium.

The club is forming boys’ teams between the ages of 15-to-18 to compete in the Spring Season of the Southern California Volleyball Assn., as well as go to the upcoming Junior Olympics in Atlanta.

Pop Warner taking registration

South Coast Pop Warner Football currently is accepting football player and cheer registration for its 2007 fall season. The league is open to youth ages 5-to-15.

Applications for coaching and board member positions also are being accepted.

Registration will take place Sat., April 21, from 10 a .m. to 2 p.m. at Wal-Mart located at 951 Avenida Pico on San Clemente.
