SCHOOL BOARD WRAPUP
The following is from the April 24 meeting of the Laguna Beach Unified School District Board of Education.
New superintendent appointed
Robert Fraisse was officially approved as the new district superintendent.
Fraisse will begin his tenure in July, after current Superintendent Theresa Daem steps down.
Daem recognized for district leadership
Daem was recognized for being a finalist in the 2007 Innovation in Education Awards, held by Project Tomorrow.
The awards honored district leadership in the areas of science, math and technology.
She was nominated by Board President Betsy Jenkins, who spoke of Daem’s leadership.
Exit exam course discussion delayed
The board delayed a discussion of a high school exit exam preparation course until the next meeting.
