Kowalski helps Swat take down Falcons in 5-0 win

Swat rolled from start to finish in its Norris Division match with the Falcons Wednesday and scored a 5-0 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Kyle Kowalski led all scorers with three goals. Peter Skowron and Joe Gibb each scored once, Gibb also had a save and the Swat defense recorded the shutout via 20 saves by Savannah Patton. Thomas Wirth had 32 saves for the Falcons.

Breakers 6, Lightning 1

The Breakers scored the final four goals of the match to pull away from the Lightning.

Owen Osborne and Connor Mellema each posted two goals to lead the Breakers in scoring. Nolan Strout and Chris Pabitzky each scored once. Strout also had two assists and Pabitzky and Ian Gibbons each had one. Jesse Mellema had 22 saves. Nicholas Thompson scored for the Lightning and Alex McCabe had 31 saves.

Slashers 3, Hot Shotz 1

The Slashers led all the way in defeating the Hot Shotz.

Garrett Zolg, Markus Boyer and Tanner Osterkamp scored goals, Ryan Osterkamp had an assist and Tanner Chang finished with 22 saves. Alexander Taros scored for the Hot Shotz.

Kings 6, Stars 1

The Kings burned the net for four first-period goals in downing the Stars.

Drew Truxaw scored three goals, Jake Gealy scored twice, Jack Truxaw scored once and Alex Buyan had an assist.

Tyler Gealy had 19 saves and nearly recorded a shutout but the Stars’ Aaron Cree scored off a Daniel Ashman feed with three seconds left.

Blake Miller had 28 saves.
