Residents asked to curtail outdoor watering

The Laguna Beach County Water District and South Coast Water Dstrict are asking homeowners and businesses in the city to suspend outdoor watering from Sunday through Saturday, March 31, while a regional water treatment plant is shut down for improvements.

Water availability will not be affected, said Renae Hinchey, general manager of the Water District, which services the city north of Nyes Place.

South Coast Water District serves the area south of Nyes Place.

Mike Dunbar, general manager of South Coast Water District, said that 50% of drinking water usage in Laguna Beach is for landscaping.
