NEWPORT BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION PREVIEW
- Share via
Here are some items the planning commission will consider today.
WINE GALLERY
A wine shop on East Coast Highway will expand by more than 1,400 square feet and lengthen store hours if the commission agrees. The Wine Gallery opened in 1999 and expanded the first time in 2002, adding wine tastings to its offerings.
Store owners want to expand into an adjacent furniture store space and stay open until 10 p.m. rather than 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Planning department staff recommend approving the store expansion.
RESTAURANT PERMIT
Eddie V’s Wildfish Restaurant at 1370 Bison Ave. could lose its permit for not complying with the city’s conditions, depending on what the commission decides. The commission had required the restaurant to create a plan to manage regular and valet parking, but restaurant officials changed the plan in 2006 without getting city approval, a city staff report said.
The restaurant, in an Irvine Co.-owned shopping center, has been unable to agree with the Irvine Co. on how many parking spaces the restaurant gets.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The commission probably will either allow more time to work out a parking plan or revoke the restaurant’s permit.
