BOYS’ LACROSSE
Newport Harbor 17, Tustin 2
NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Ryan Hanrahan scored three goals and dished out three assists to keep the Sailors undefeated in the Sunset League after a 17-2 win over Tustin Friday at Monte Vista Back Bay High.
Sophomore Tommy Hanrahan added four goals, while Zach Gagnon contributed three goals and two assists for the Sailors (3-2, 2-0 in league).
Newport Harbor won its first league game Saturday, beating Avalon, 9-8, in double overtime on Catalina Island. Ryan Hanrahan scored the game-winning goal on an assist from Gagnon, who led the Sailors with four goals and three assists. Glen Christensen added three goals.
Newport Harbor will play at Los Alamitos Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.
Corona del Mar 12,
Capistrano Valley 4
MISSION VIEJO — David Kidushim and Noah Molnar scored three goals each to lead the Sea Kings at Capistrano Valley High Friday.
Connor Pinkston and Casey Bush scored two goals each. Ty Oberly added two assists, while Molnar and Mike Kidushim provided one each.
Goalie Andrew Noto recored 14 saves for Corona del Mar (5-1).
BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Orange County Championships
HUNTINGTON BEACH — Blaine Nielsen recorded 16 kills overall to help lead Corona del Mar High to wins in pool play at Edison High Friday.
Nielsen had eight kills, thee digs and two aces in the Sea Kings’ 25-19, 25-17 win over Woodbridge. Jeff Carlson added five kills and three digs, while Brad McCoy provided four kills. Spencer Brown contributed seven digs and Phil Bannan had 23 assists.
Carlson led Corona del Mar with nine kills in its 25-18, 18-25, 15-12 win over Edison. Nielsen had eight kills, Gus Ellis seven and McCoy six. Bannan amassed 30 assists.
The Sea Kings (12-0), ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division II, conclude pool play today at 10 a.m. against Capistrano Valley. The championship match is on Monday at 7 p.m. at Edison.
Orange County Championships
HUNTINGTON BEACH — Tucker Peluses had 17 kills to help lead the Sailors to two wins in pool play Friday at Edison High.
Weston Dunlap had five kills and three blocks in Newport Harbor’s 25-21, 25-19 win over Laguna Beach. Andrew Kaban added five digs. Kaban had 11 digs in the Sailors’ 23-25, 25-17, 15-10 win over Foothill. Mark Liebermann and Peluses had 13 kills each. Max Volz produced nine kills and Dunlap seven.
Newport Harbor (6-5) plays against Mission Viejo today at 9 a.m.
Sage Hill def. San Marino
NEWPORT COAST — Bayle Smith recorded 30 kills to lead the Lightning to a 25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 16-25, 15-9 nonleague win Friday.
Joe Booth added 11 kills and Michael Bear 55 assists for Sage Hill (5-2), ranked No. 5 in CIF Division V.
The Lightning play host to University on Tuesday.
Saddleback def. Estancia
SANTA ANA — Junior Barry Fryslie had 13 assists and 12 digs for the Eagles in the 25-18, 25-8, 21-25, 25-15 nonleague loss Friday.
Sophomore Shane Lyons had a team-high eight kills for Estancia (1-3). Freshman Kyle Prevel added five kills.
BOYS’ TENNIS
Sage Hill 13, Fairmont Prep 5
LA HABRA — Martin Park swept in singles to help keep the Lightning undefeated in the Academy League Friday at La Habra Tennis Center.
The doubles teams of Robert Wee and Troy Astorino, Karl Fletcher and Andrew Yun also swept for Sage Hill (4-7, 4-0 in league), ranked ninth in CIF Southern Section Division IV.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors dropped their Sunset League opener to Esperanza, the No. 7-ranked team in CIF Southern Section Division I, Friday.
Nick Svendson and R.J. D’Cruz each had a double for Newport Harbor (2-5, 0-1 in league).
