Ryan Babbush (44), Steve Choi (46), James Chai (48), Mac Mace (50) also contributed for Sage Hill (6-1, 5-0 in league).

Huntington Beach def.NEWPORT BEACH — Tucker Peluses had 16 kills and five blocks in the Sailors’ 25-14, 21-25, 25-17, 12-25, 13-15 nonleague loss Wednesday.

Newport Harbor

Weston Dunlap added 13 kills, Andrew Kaban seven kills and Darren Leggett 38 assists for Newport (4-5).

BASEBALL

Sage Hill 15, Whitney 2NEWPORT COAST — Senior pitcher Danny Hurst threw a no-hitter to help give Coach Mark Talmo his first win with the Lightning in an Academy League opener Tuesday.

Hurst gave up two runs in the five innings, with 12 walks, eight strikeouts and one hit batsman. Sean Vogel went three for four for Sage (1-1).
