Orange Coast 14, Golden West 10HUNTINGTON BEACH — Halston Barcelo went two for three with two doubles and four RBIs for the Pirates in an Orange Empire Conference win at rival Golden West on Tuesday.
Wes Kartch had four hits and four runs for OCC (11-8, 2-1), which scored six runs in the top of the fourth but watched the Rustlers (10-8, 0-3) score seven in the bottom of the frame.
Serrin Jarvi, normally the Pirates’ closer, pitched six innings of relief for his first win of the season. Nick Rotkowitz (four RBIs) and Cory Olson (three RBIs) also led the OCC attack.

Starter Cory Hamilton picked up his first loss after giving up one run in three innings for UCI (12-5-1).

Vanguard 3, Concordia 2Vanguard 7, Concordia 2IRVINE — The Lions rode a pair of strong pitching performances by Jennifer Olvera and Jennifer Rynda to a road doubleheader sweep Tuesday in Golden State Athletic Conference action.
Both pitchers won complete games for Vanguard (15-4, 4-0 in conference).
Rynda went two for three in the first game. In the second game, Vanguard’s Sarah Howe had a home run, a double and four RBIs, while Jennifer Bergh went three for four. Rachel Bomgren was two for two with two runs scored and Ashley Ocasio added a home run.

Callaway Golf InvitationalRANCHO SANTA FE — Jay Choe shot a seven-under-par 65 in the final round and finished eighth with a three-round total of one-under-par 215 in the 54-hole Callaway Golf Invitational at The Farms Golf Club Tuesday.
UCI finished 13th in the 15-team field, which was won by San Diego State.
MEN’S TENNIS
Vanguard 7, Villanova 2Dominic Stockler, Florian Lemke and Dieter Weislmaier all won both singles and doubles matches for Vanguard in an easy nonconference win Tuesday at Vanguard.
Garrett Gillon won in singles, taking a third-set super-tiebreaker for the Lions (6-2).

WOMEN’S TENNIS
Vanguard 8, Villanova 1COSTA MESA — Vanguard won five of six singles matches and swept doubles Tuesday in a nonconference win at Vanguard.
The doubles teams of Amy Brown and Damia Donkervoort, Betyel Tesfa and Zuzana Zustakova and Hana Jurcovicova and Olivia Amstad won for the Lions (6-1).
