Local writer discusses book

Southern California native and best-selling author T. Jefferson Parker will be at the Huntington Beach Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave., at 6:30 p.m. to discuss and sign his latest novel, “Storm Runners,” the fictional story of Orange County detective Matt Stromsoe, whose wife and son were killed in a bomb attack meant for him.

Parker’s writing background includes covering police stories as a cub reporter for the Newport Ensign and the Daily Pilot, which served him well when he began his writing career.

Most of the settings for his mystery/thriller novels are based in Southern California locales, and his first book, “Laguna Heat,” was written at night and on weekends while he worked as a journalist by day.
