“Surf City Nights” will take place on Tuesday nights from 4 to 9 p.m. along a closed off section of Main Street in downtown Huntington Beach. Pierside Surf City 6 Cinemas, 300 Pacific Coast Highway #203, Huntington Beach, will screen, “Of Wind and Waves: The Life of Woody Brown,” at 7 and 9 p.m. The movie profiles 92-year-old surfing legend Woody Brown, who also invented the modern catamaran and set world gliding records. Ocean lifeguard tryouts for the city of Huntington Beach will take place at 8 a.m. at Lifeguard Headquarters, 103 Pacific Coast Highway. Interested candidates must submit a completed application form available on-line at www.surfcity-hb.org/jobs prior to the performance exam, which includes a 500 yard ocean swim, 1,000 yard ocean swim, and a 1,500 yard run-swim-run.
