BRIEFS:Mesa, CdM set to play

The Costa Mesa High girls’ basketball team will face St. Mary’s Academy of Inglewood for the CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA title Friday at 4:45 p.m. at the Walter Pyramid on the Long Beach State campus.

In boys’ basketball, Corona del Mar will play against Renaissance Academy of La Cañada for the CIF Division III-A championship Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Honda Center.

Tickets will be on sale at the participating schools today or at the various venues the day of the game only. Ticket prices for the Walter Pyramid and Honda Center are the same: $9 for general admission, $5 for students with high school ID and children 13 and under.

Parking at the Honda Center is $12 and $5 at the Walter Pyramid.

Costa Mesa (20-10), the Orange Coast League champ and the No. 3 seed, is seeking its third CIF title in girls’ basketball. St. Mary’s Academy, the top seed, enters at 28-5.

Corona del Mar (21-7), co-champion of the Pacific Coast League and the No. 4 seed, is hoping for a fifth CIF championship in boys’ basketball. Renaissance Academy, the No. 2 seed, is 28-1.
