Edward H Selich, a 50 year resident of Chula Vista Ca., passed away Wednesday February 21, 2007 at the age of 85 with his loving family at his side.
He was born November 21, 1921 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. There he met his loving wife of 48 years Veronica, who passed away in 1991. He served in the Army in World War Two serving in numerous African and European military campaigns. After the war he returned home where he married Veronica.
He moved to Chula Vista, California in 1956 where he and Veronica raised a family of four children; Edward, Dennis, George and Gloria. He was employed by National Steel and Shipbuilding for 28 years and retired in 1984.
During his lifetime he enjoyed many pastimes including hunting, fishing and playing golf. In his later years he enjoyed bowling. He loved to entertain his family friends with his banjo and provided many hours of enjoyment for them. He loved and was devoted to his family and they were blessed with his great sense of humor.
He was a 50 year member of St Pius X Church, Chula Vista, Ca.
He is survived by his son Edward D, of Newport Beach Ca., granddaughter Adrienne of Aliso Viejo Ca., granddaughter Alexandra of Play del Rey Ca., son Dennis of San Diego Ca., son George of Los Angeles Ca., Daughter Gloria, son-in-law Rick, and grandson Ryan all of Laguna Hills Ca, and sister Mary of Phoenix Arizona.
A funeral mass will be held at St Pius X church 1120 Cuyamaca Ave
Chula Vista, CA.
on Tuesday February 27 at 11:00 AM.
