Tax help available for seniors
The Laguna Beach Senior Center is offering free help with tax returns at the center, 384 Legion Street, Laguna Beach.
The center’s tax counselors are IRS/AARP certified to provide assistance with most tax issues faced by low and middle-income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older.
Those who don’t file a tax return may pick up a telephone excise tax refund form to obtain a $30-60 refund.
Appointments may be made by calling (949) 497-2441.
Donations sought for Legacy Ball
Laguna Beach Seniors Inc. is planning its first gala fundraiser Jan. 26 at Seven Degrees and is seeking items to be donated for a silent auction.
The theme is “retro,” and the group will be auctioning off sets of framed old Laguna prints and small antique items.
Anyone who has antique jewelry, unique dishes, crockery or other small antique items that will fit in the back seat of a car are asked to contact Louise Buckley, (949) 464-9346, for pick-up.
Items may also be dropped off at the Laguna Beach Senior Center, 384 Legion St., Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The fundraiser will help Laguna Beach Seniors Inc. with its operational expenses. Items donated are tax deductible. A receipt will be provided for donations.
