LAS VEGAS — Forward Stephanie Duda finished with a team-high 16 points and seven rebounds, but the Anteaters fell behind big early en route to dropping their fourth consecutive nonconference game.
UC Irvine (2-8) trailed 45-25 at halftime after making 27% of its shots. No other Anteater player finished in double figures, compared to UNLV (4-4) having three, led by forward Shamela Hampton, who had a career-high 22 points and 12 rebounds.
The Anteaters were pounded on the boards, as UNLV outrebounded them, 51-34.
UC Irvine plays host to Army on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Bren Events Center.
