    The City of Costa Mesa is asking residents to help support D Company, the Army unit adopted by the city, by donating bedding to the soldiers stationed in Iraq. New twin-size sheets and blankets are needed, and a “donation trunk” has been set up in City Hall; donations must be received no later than Nov. 30 in order for items to arrive in time for the holidays.     The Orange County Museum of Art presents the 2006 California Biennial, an event with more than 150 works, including installations, sculpture, paintings, works on paper, wall drawing, photographs, film and video art.     ART EXHIBIT

    The Orange County Public Library, 2969 Mesa Verde Drive East, Costa Mesa is featuring a solo watercolor exhibit by Dariela Wilson entitled “Orange County Bounty: Bayside Birds and Coral Florals.” Included in the exhibit are paintings of swans inspired by Rupert, the black swan killed several months ago in Newport bay.     Share Our Selves (SOS), a non-profit organization providing food, medical services, counseling and financial aid to families in need, presents its 1st Annual SOS Adopt A Family Festival of Trees at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa, 3050 Bristol Street, from 5 to 7 p.m. Trees will be decorated and available for bidding in a silent auction; one tree will be set aside for children to decorate; two trees are being reserved for a live auction on Thursday, Nov. 30.     Share Our Selves, a non-profit group providing assistance to families in need, concludes its Adopt A Family Festival of Trees event at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa, 3050 Bristol Street, with a family celebration from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sponsored in part by the Daily Pilot, the evening’s festivities will feature a silent auction of decorated trees, live auction of two special trees, jazz music, holiday buffet and an appearance by Santa.
