Children’s holiday palettes exhibited
The city has announced guidelines for the 2006 children’s holiday palette exhibition. The deadline for palette designs is 5 p.m., Nov. 9, at the Cultural Arts Department.
Laguna Beach children ages 5 to 17 are provided a paper template representing a palette on which to paint and/or draw original artwork. All appropriate submitted children’s holiday palettes will be on display at City Hall during the holiday season in a portfolio for public viewing. In addition, several paper palettes will be chosen for mounting onto wooden palettes. They will then be displayed throughout December at City Hall in a special exhibition. This project has been made possible with the support of Laguna Outreach for Community Arts. Proof of age and residency may be required.
Children are asked to submit a palette design on 8 ½ x 11” paper in color within the border of the palette outline available online at www.lagunabeachcity.net; they are asked to include the palette indent as part of their design.
Designs will be selected from the following age groups for mounting on wooden palettes: ages 5 to 8, 9 to 13 and 14 to 17.
The artist’s signature, age and date should be placed on the front left hand side. There are no restrictions on subject matter; however, religious symbols are discouraged.
