Women’s conference to be held Sept. 21Newport Beach will welcome hundreds of women to the second annual Orange County Conference for Women at the Balboa Bay Club on Sept. 21.
Spearheaded by Newport Beach City Councilwoman Leslie Daigle, the conference will include panels on topics such as trends in women’s health, caring for aging parents and women helping others. Orange County Superior Court Judge Nancy Wieben Stock will be the keynote speaker.
Organizers are seeking event sponsors to contribute up to $3,000. Individual tickets cost $100. For information, go to www.ocwomen.org or call (949) 548-2411.
1940s Newport Harbor High alumni to reuniteThey graduated from high school just as America was heading into World War II — and in the six decades since, they’ve likely accumulated more than a few stories to tell. On Sept. 26 at the Costa Mesa Country Club, the Newport Harbor High School classes of 1940, 1941 and 1942 will meet for a reunion luncheon.
