ClearLight invests in Philadelphia firm

Newport Beach-based private equity firm ClearLight Partners announced Thursday its “significant” investment in a Philadelphia-based sales training and consulting firm.

The Richardson Group helps its clients build great sales organization by providing comprehensive training to the sales force.

ClearLight did not specify how much equity it provided along with Richardson Management. CapitalSource provided senior debt financing.

Job fair coming to Hilton in Costa Mesa

The Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa will host the Employment Development Department’s End of Summer Extravaganza, Employment and Career Job Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

The Veterans Employment Services staff at the Santa Ana Work Center and the Orange County One-Stop Center partnered with the hotel in sponsoring the event that serves to help veterans achieve their educational and career goals.

A diverse range of local businesses with job openings will be on hand and everyone who is looking for a job is encouraged to attend. The hotel is at 3050 Bristol St. For more information call (714) 241-4955.

Water district honored for financial reporting

For the 12th year in a row, the Mesa Consolidated Water District received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Assn. of the United States and Canada.

The honor is the highest in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting given by the nonprofit association.

The award, established in 1945, recognizes financial reporting excellence by state and local governments. It’s given to encourage high standards.

Mesa has more than 100,000 customers in Costa Mesa, parts of Newport Beach and John Wayne Airport.

Architectural firm names project captain

Newport Beach-based architectural firm H. Hendy Associates appointed Irvine resident John Thomas as its project captain.

Thomas will take over day-to-day operations, including budgets and overall construction documentation.

He has 10 years of experience in handling commercial, residential and nonprofit projects all over the world. He is a member of the United States Green Building Council, Orange County Chapter and is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified.

H. Hendy Associates has had a prestigious client roster, including Nike, Verizon, Ameriquest Mortgage Co., Pacific Sunwear and Fortune 500 companies.

The Lab and The Camp seek creativity

South On Bristol Entertainment Culture and Arts is now accepting submissions for the SoBeCa Mural Project 2006, and ideas for The Lab and The Camp’s Inter-Discipline Enriching the Arts Scholarship.
