Breakers topple Grommets in overtime

Aaron Maccabi scored an unassisted goal in overtime and the Breakers defense held up its end in defeating the Grommets, 4-3, in a Norris Division match at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Alexander Taros, Kyle Skitco and Nolan Strout also scored unassisted goals for the Breakers.

Jake Grothjan had 22 saves.

Jake Rennison scored all three goal for the Grommets, the second coming off an assist from Alec Lang. Emmett Jaeger had 21 saves.

Bears 7, Raptors 4

The Bears jumped out to a 6-2 lead through two quarters and went on to defeat the Raptors.

Austin Koss powered the Bears offensively with five goals and Casey Rhodes scored once. Koss, Rhodes and Cooper Haar also had assists.

Evan Gray finished with 18 saves.

Andrew Schenker scored twice, Matthew Chism had a goal and assist and Nicholas Zapotoczny scored once for the Raptors.

Nick Hoskins had 16 assists.

Diablos 6, Kings 5

Tyler Crimmins opened and closed the scoring for the Diablos, who got past the Kings.

Crimmins scored the first two goals for the Diablos and their sixth, finishing with a match-high three goals. Zak Show was right behind Crimmins with two goals and Trenton Shehan scored once.

Alex Buyan, Rachel Buyan and Jessica Childers all were credited with assists and Blake Walker had 14 saves.
