SATURDAY
The annual Longboard Sand Soccer Tournament will feature men and women from around the country competing for prizes and bragging rights. The city is hosting the 52nd annual Distance Derby, the longest Orange County race with an ocean view. Proceeds go toward Project Self-Sufficiency, a program to assist single parents and their children. The 10-mile run begins at 7 a.m., the 5-mile at 8:30 a.m. and the surf kids fun run at 10 a.m. Cost: not yet announced. The race will begin in the pier plaza, 315 Pacific Coast Highway. “The Last Five Years,” a musical from Tony Award winning composer Jason Robert Brown, follows a young couple’s romance, her story beginning at the end of their relationship, while his begins on the day they met.
