Church welcomes interim minister
Rev. Dr. Bill Peterson will serve as the new interim minister at Neighborhood Congregational Church of Laguna Beach.
Peterson comes to the ministry after a career in the aerospace industry. He received a master of divinity degree from Chicago Theological Seminary, a master’s from the University of Chicago in social service administration and an education doctorate in professional continuing education.
He has served churches in Illinois and California and serves as an educator in the National Interim Ministry Network. Peterson and his wife, the Rev. Gail Benson, interim executive director of Pilgrim Pines Camp, live in Whittier and have four adult children.
Peterson will lead the congregation through the interim process prior to selection of a permanent senior pastor. His first service was July 30.
Sunday services are at 10 a.m. at 340 St. Ann’s Drive. All are welcome.
Summer visitors may join choirs
Summer visitors are invited to join Laguna Presbyterian Church’s vocal and hand-bell choirs during August.
Anyone interested in singing in the vocal choir should come to the Laguna Presbyterian Sanctuary at 8 a.m. on any Sunday during the month of August. Contact Angela Krueger at (949) 494-7555 for questions.
Hand-bell choir rehearsals are on Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. in the music room of the church. For questions about the bell choir, contact Tami Brose at (949) 910-8080 or e-mail at [email protected].
