Balboa is fast out of the gate

NEWPORT BEACH ? The host Balboa Yacht Club went a sparkling 4-1 in the 40th Governor’s Cup Challenge junior sailing regatta Tuesday and are 6-3 after two days. The Balboa Yacht Club’s six victories include one over Newport Harbor Yacht Club.
Newport Harbor went 2-3 on Tuesday and was winless on Wednesday to fall to 2-7 after two days. Newport Harbor’s wins came against Annapolis Yacht Club and Cruising Yacht Club of Australia. The defending champion Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club is 9-0.
The Balboa Yacht Club team consists of Wade Buzton, Christian Emsiek and Casey Schilling.
The Newport Harbor Yacht Club team consists of Christopher Segerblom, Andrew Mason and Mac Mace.
Racing resumes today with the last two races of the round robin series.
