Brooks shifts benches

Former UC Irvine men’s basketball standout Scott Brooks has been named an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings.
The former Anteater point guard, an assistant the past three years for the Denver Nuggets, will join the staff of new Kings Coach Eric Musselman.
Brooks served as interim head coach for two games last season when George Karl had to serve a suspension.
Brooks played 11 seasons in the NBA and was a member of the Houston Rockets’ championship team in 1994.
He played two seasons at UCI (1985 through 1987).
He was first-team All-Big West Conference as a senior when he averaged 23.8 points per game.
