Braunsdorf gets company

HUNTINGTON BEACH ? Estancia’s Scott Braunsdorf qualified for the CIF Southern Section individual tournament for the fourth consecutive year by reaching the Golden West League singles final Tuesday.

The doubles team of Ely Zaidler and Danny O’Neil also advanced, the first Eagles to join Braunsdorf at the CIF tournament in four years.

Braunsdorf defeated teammate Brad Fisher in a three-set semifinal before losing to Orange’s Steve Johnson in the championship. Fisher defeated Saddleback’s Oscar Ortega in the third-place match.

Zaidler and O’Neil topped Costa Mesa’s Ted Lee and John Dang in the semifinals, and then lost to Santa Ana’s Luciano Rodriguez and Jesus Ramirez in the final. Lee and Dang defeated Westminster’s Daniel Hua and Jeff Tran in the third-place match.
