Secondary school textbooks on display
The Newport-Mesa Unified School District is currently displaying social science and foreign language textbooks being considered for approval in grades seven through 12. The books are available in the Sanborn Instructional Media Center at 2985-C Bear St., Costa Mesa.
The books will be on display for review by the public Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. through May 26. Call (714) 424-7551 for an appointment.
Churches celebrate Mozart’s birthday
Two local church choirs will join together Sunday for a concert to celebrate the 250th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The choirs of Mesa Verde United Methodist Church of Costa Mesa and Newport Harbor Lutheran Church of Newport Beach will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday at Newport Harbor Lutheran, 798 Dover Drive.
The program will include “Coronation Mass in C Major” and “Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major.”
Seating is limited, and a donation of $10 is suggested.
