‘Eaters finish sixth

RANCHO MIRAGE ? The UC Irvine women’s golf team finished sixth at the Northwestern Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at the Westin Mission Hills Resort.
The Anteaters shot a final-round 10-over-par 298 to finish with a three-round total of 889, 42 shots behind winner Kent State.
Jane Chin led UCI with a six-over 222, good enough to tie for 24th place. Kim Lorenzana tied for 27th at 223, with Selanee Henderson, Angela Won and Carling Cho each tying for 30th at 224.
Kent State’s Tara Delaney and Kira Meixner tied for the individual title at seven-under-par 209, with Delaney winning the championship on the basis of the better third-round score.
