Breakers youth tennis falls short

Bill Barber shaves advanced team.The Laguna Beach Breakers 14-and-under advanced tennis team took on Bill Barber Park of Irvine and lost in games, 40-33.

Ashley Ta (6-4), McKenna Nokes (6-0) and Alison Azera (6-1) won in singles play for Laguna. Posting a win in doubles play for the Breakers was the team of Nokes and Azera.

Laguna’s 12-and-under advanced team won sets (5-4) but lost on games (38-29) to Claremont Country Club. The Breakers played one player short and defaulted two matches, 6-0.

Laguna singles players Natasha Boulad (6-3), Benito Romeo (6-4) and Ashley Ta (6-3) posted victories. In doubles play, Romeo and Boulad scored a 6-4 win for Laguna.

In the 12-and-under intermediate division, Laguna failed to win a set and lost, 54-21, to Yorba Linda Country Club.
