Peirsol ready for Montreal

Olympic gold medalist Aaron Peirsol is headed to Montreal to compete

in the world championships today through July 31.

Peirsol, a Newport Harbor High product, has been training hard

with the University of Texas for the last few weeks but now he’s

resting and tapering to prepare for the big meet.

Peirsol will be in Irvine Aug. 2 to compete against Australia in

the Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool at the Woollett Aquatics Center.

“I’m excited about the dual meet because I’ll be back in my

hometown and it’ll be a fun little meet,” Peirsol said.

Peirsol has been doing some golfing in his spare time. He has also

been going to school and moving into his new house in Austin, Texas.
