Soccer camp for girls begins Monday
Laguna Beach High School girls’ soccer coach Bill Rolfing and his
staff will conduct two summer soccer camps for girls ages 12 to 18
for the second straight year.
The first camp will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday through
Thursday, July 18 through 22, at Guyer Field on the high school
campus.
The second session will run the same time, days and place July 25
through 29.
Soccer skills and technique development, small group tactics and
field awareness will be emphasized. Special speed training sessions
with Jimmy Nolan, head football coach at Laguna Beach High, will add
to the program’s depth in an energetic, fun and positive learning
environment.
The cost is $200 per camper and $100 per additional family member.
The fee includes player evaluations, participation awards and a
Laguna Beach High camp t-shirt.
Each players is required to bring soccer shoes, shin guards,
sunscreen and water

Hoops camp begins Aug. 1
Bret Fleming’s Summer Basketball Camp will run from Aug. 1 through
5 at the Thurston Middle School gymnasium.
Fleming is the head boys’ basketball coach at Laguna Beach High
School.
The camp is open to youth who will enter grades four through eight
in the 2005-06 school year.
The camp will run each day from 9 a.m. to noon and campers are
encouraged to bring a snack and bottle of water.
Camp highlights include developing individual skills,
participating in team play and practicing good sportsmanship,
learning the Laguna Beach High basketball system, team practice,
competition and games, concluding with championship competitions.
The cost is $225 per camper, and $150 per additional family
member.

Pop Warner coaching spots available
South Coast Pop Warner Football and Cheer is continuing to accept
applications for Junior Mitey Mite and Flag Football head coaches and
assistant coaches.
Perspective applicants need not have a child participating in the
program in order to coach.
Limited football player and cheer sign-ups are still available for
youth ages 5 to 15.
South Coast Pop Warner is an official Positive Coaching Alliance
