A Huntington Beach man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
after stabbing another man in the face when an argument escalated
into a physical fight Sunday night outside a Garden Grove convenience
store, police said.
Daniel Reyes, 22, allegedly stabbed a 37-year-old Compton man with
a knife after a fight broke out at the Circle K market in the 12500
block of Knott Avenue at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, said Lt. Mike Handfield,
of the Garden Grove Police Department.
The victim’s injury resulted in partial facial paralysis,
Handfield said.
When police officers arrived on scene, Reyes was being held and
locked inside the store by the victim’s friends, Handfield said.
The suspect’s girlfriend, Nancy Nguygen, 19, of Garden Grove, was
arrested for brandishing a weapon, police said. She was cited and
released.
Reyes was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is being
held on $500,000 bail at Orange County Jail, police said.
