Pony “A” All-Star teams wins tourney

The Fountain Valley Pony Baseball “A” All-Star team last week

captured first-place at the Dana Point Summer Classic Tournament in

Dana Point.

Pony Baseball teams from the north and south ends of the county

competed in the round-robin format series, which concluded Saturday.

The Pony “A” All-Star team is composed of Huntington Beach

athletes Danny Tierney, Tim Higgins, Beau Amaral, Tab Pagter, Nick

Mazzone, Jason Morash, Jacob Springer, Brayden Kent and Kevin Nance;

Kyle Schellenger of Fountain Valley; Ryan Miller of Costa Mesa; and

Deondre Moss of Westminster.

The team is managed by Dean Morash and coached by Mike Tierney,

Mark Bocksnick, Nick Mazzone, Chris Miller, Rich Amaral, Ed Nance and

Art Kent.

The Pony All-Star “A” and “B” teams are hosting their own

tournaments today through Sunday at Fountain Valley High. The

tournament is a prelude to the district-level tournament, which gets

underway in Whittier on July 14.
