To improve pedestrian safety, the city is installing sidewalk and
curb ramps in the vicinity of Laguna Beach High School. Preliminary
work has already begun, and the project is expected to be completed
by the end of August.
To facilitate construction, the city will be implementing a detour
for approximately two months around the high school, as follows:
* St. Ann’s Drive from Park Avenue to Wilson Street will be
one-way only, northbound, (toward Park Avenue), and
* Wilson Street from St. Ann’s Drive to El Bosque will be one-way
only, southbound, (toward Thalia).
Nita Carmen Park will also be closed during this time period. Curb
ramp construction on Park Avenue will require temporary sidewalk
closures and minor parking restrictions that will last approximately
five days.
Some construction noise and dust is expected during working hours,
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Questions or comments may be directed to Derek Wieske, assistant
city engineer, (949) 497-0792.
