Surfrider Foundation Newport Beach Chapter celebrates
International Surfing Day on the longest day of the year. Grab your

SAILING CLASSES
A Lidos class is being offered
by the Orange Coast College School of Sailing and Seamanship. A
beginning sailing class should be completed before taking this
course. Class meets from 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. June 20 to 24 at the
college’s sailing center, 1801 Coast Highway West. Newport Beach.

A Catalina Cruise aboard Lucinda Mae will be offered by Orange
Coast College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship. The cruise is
designed for sailors with at least intermediate-level skills. The
cruise will take off from at 9 a.m. June 4 and return at 5 p.m. June
5 from the center, 1801 Coast Highway West, Newport Beach.

Sailing Fascination offers classes in boating safety and sailing
year-round for persons with disabilities. Classes are Tuesdays and
Saturdays at the Balboa Yacht Basin, slip B1, 829 Harbor Island

Fishing classes leave Balboa Pavilion at 6 a.m. and return at 4

Get to the Newport Pier early to watch the dory fishing fleet
return with the fresh catch of the day. Fish are prepared for sale at
McFadden Square, an open-air market.

Imua Outrigger Canoe Club invites adventure-minded adults to canoe
Newport Harbor Hawaiian style. No experience required -- they’ll
teach you all you need to know. Dress for the beach and bring a towel
every Saturday at 10 a.m. at North Star Beach, 1 White Cliffs Drive,

The Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve offers Back Bay canoe
tours departing at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays from Shellmaker Island, which

Newport Aquatic Center offers sweep rowing (one oar), sculling
classes (two oars) and canoe rentals. Classes run for four weeks and
cost $75. Introductory clinics also are available Saturdays and

two-hour kayak tours of the Back Bay at 10 a.m. every Sunday at the
