CALICO CATS
Calico cat lovers will be pleased -- we have a selection of calico
cats to choose from at our adoption events. The varying and distinct
markings of black, white and orange patterns have proven the genetic
color code of the Calico to be predominately female.
The five calico cats -- Pumpkin, Angelina Ballerina, Maggie, Lucy
and Marie Callender -- all entered our rescue network at the same
time, giving the public the most choice of variable patterns and
personality. Interestingly, Marie had only one calico kitten born to
her and momma cats Angelina, Lucy, Maggie and Pumpkin had no calicos
in their litters. But Lucy had a Siamese-looking kitten born to her.
It seems to always be a surprise!
Please, we ask the pet-loving public to adopt older animals. With
your help, one by one we can save lives. Adopt an adult cat!
