79 students graduate
at Sage Hill School
The class of 2005 graduated Friday afternoon at Sage Hill School,
with 46 students from the Newport area among those shifting their
tassels at the private Newport Coast school.
All the graduates plan to attend college in the fall, with 45% of
the class entering colleges on the east coast and 27% in California.
Among the college choices for this year’s graduates are Wesleyan,
Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Stanford, UC Berkeley and USC.
One senior this year, Eric LaMotte, was spotlighted in OC Family
magazine this month as one of Orange County’s 20 Shining Students for
2005.
“We are proud of this class,” head of school Clint Wilkins said in
a statement. “It has been during their senior year that the school
has truly become a community. They are an unusually caring and
thoughtful group of young people who have led by example, especially
in creating positive relationships, both with each other and with the
faculty and staff.
“The result has been a positive tone on the campus. Because of
them and the students who are following them, Sage Hill School is a
place where we all love to be.”
